Supplementary data: Is metaphony (and sound change) sensitive to grammatical category? The case of verbs in the dialects of the Lausberg area (Phonology)

This study examines the extent to which metaphony is sensitive to grammatical category in three varieties of the Lausberg dialect area of Southern Italy. Results from acoustic analyses show that metaphony, understood through raising or diphthongisation of mid stem vowels triggered by high suffix vowels, is present in nouns and adjectives, but greatly reduced or absent in verbs.
